Ben Peyer

My work is meant to both communicate and evoke an absence of mental turbulence. I don't mean mental stillness, though that is one way to remove turbulence; I mean effortless, pure focus, a coherence of intent unsullied by distraction. This coherence is the difference between a light bulb and a laser.

When I am the recipient of good fortune to not only witness beauty in nature but compose a photo in such a way as to capture it, that 100th of a second or so when the shutter clicks and the internal mechanism of my camera won't allow me to see the scene it is recording, all I have left in my brain is intent. My hope is that these photos are a realization of this intent.
